The Artifacts - humanoid nomadic spirits:  The Artifacts are a group of wise,
ancient beings possessing invincible physical forms - they cannot die.  Though
they usually care little for anyone else, the Artifacts do communicate and
co-exist with Maherty's inhabitants.  With their knowledge and invulnerability,
they are always sought after as allies.  Each Artifact lives by his or her own
conduct codes; no individual seems classifiable as good or evil.  However some
of the Artifacts are known for their various personality traits, which include
mischief, care, deceit, humor, aggression, speed, and lethality.
