Ellie Tressle is a pilot trainer from the Capellan militia. She worked in this position after a short
period of time in which she proved her skills as a Mechwarrior in skirmishes on Liao-Kurita
borderworlds. A favorite of her commanding officer, Charlie "Run Em Up" Dugan, Ellie was asked
to be a trainer because of her natural piloting talent.
Beginning her training stint in a Chameleon BattleMech, Ellie was rewarded after completing
only two months of teaching basic Mech piloting. Ellie's reward, as suggested by her commander
Dugan, was a Banshee BattleMech. While many of the other commanders joked about the
awkward controls of the new Mech, Ellie soon proved her abilities by handling the 95 ton
machine smoothly. Both amazed and intrigued by Ellie's capable piloting skill, Dugan soon
provided her with a 90 ton Cyclops. The Cyclops, also typecast as a slower and clumsier ride for
even the best pilots, was actually an upgrade for the young trainer. Ellie now had a Mech with a
powerful weapons load, unlike the poorly armed Banshee variant she possessed earlier.
When her contract came to an end after two years in the militia, Ellie decided to try working for
a mercenary unit. Selecting the middle sized assault team, Llana's Breakers, Ellie was given the
chance to again pilot a Cyclops Mech on one of the team's assault lances. Meeting Yauri Swift in
her time with the Breakers, she began to like him and decided to follow his lead when he joined
the smaller Acer's Hueys mercenary team.
However, switching unit's presented a rather large problem, as Ellie was determined to keep her
Cyclops Mech for her future work. Eventually Llana and Ellie agreed on a price, and Ellie
purchased the Mech from the unit. After doing so, getting a job with the Hueys alongside Yauri
was quite easy. The Hueys were anxious to be offered services from a previous pilot trainer, not
to mention the owner of a 90 ton assault class BattleMech.
Ellie soon realized Yauri was not her type, but chose to remain on the Strikers after becoming
good friends with Hubart Cuthburt Dickens. She likes to give the young pilot advice and help
him in her free time. Ellie is a passionate fighter. She will probably continue piloting Mechs
until she retires.
