Ellison was any commander's worst nightmare. After transferring to the Inner
Sphere Ellison found that he had a knack for being in the know and doing the right
things at the right time. These attributes could have been put to use in any number
of legal ways but Ellison decided that just because he was a Clan member did not
mean that he shouldn't be rich.
Ellison was under investigation by local authorities on a number of illicit activities
at the time of his death. One of these was the murder of a peasant in a nearby
community. The peasant had been found shot through the heart by an energy
weapon with heat characteristic of a clan pulse laser pistol, Ellison's favorite
weapon. This was not evidence in and of itself, but the fact that Ellison was seen
arguing with this man, a known gambler and bookie, increased the probability.
Ellison was likely in on some of the same big time deals and rotten to his very core.
All personnel wary of him had typically reported suspicious activity to the Strider's
Strikers Security and Well-Being Division at 43-A27-009, a visiphone line made
especially for investigations involving Ellison and his acquaintances.
Shortly before he was killed in late 3068 during a raid on a Clan Ghost Bear
facility, Ellison had apparently received a dressing down by Borg and his
investigative associates within the Strider's Strikers Intelligence Corps. Many
believe that Borg had discovered critical evidence against Ellison. Some have
even suggested that Borg was instrumental in Ellison's demise. It is in the very
least an established fact that the corrupted pilot had been left to fend for himself
after suffering a critical engine hit when the Nova Cat raiding party had met with
unexpected resistance from Ghost Bear forces.
