Dr. Suzy Evans has been the assault lance commander of the Acer's Hueys for 38
years. With more than three decades of experience, Suzy has become extremely
talented in the strategic planning of warfare. Though recent years have been very
difficult for the Hueys financially, the unit has still had its fair share of contracts.
With the recent step down of Hueys' founder and past commander Ace Leghorn,
Suzy has been the team's rock when planning offensive missions. Merrick, her and
Ace's son, is usually better versed in defensive strategies, as stressed by his
father's more paranoid doctrine.
Suzy's lance has experienced its share of tactical mistakes, beginning with the
fighting withdrawal of the Hueys from the Labrea system, some 25 years ago. One
incident in 3040 was especially significant, in which Hubart Dickens' BattleMech
fell in combat. Though a very expensive and physically dangerous mistake, the
strategic error started Suzy on her own personal campaign - to study the strategy
of warfare and prevent any further damage to her unit. Suzy's determination and
academic skills provided her with the perfect combination in her quest for
battlefield knowledge. She has since learned a lot, much to the benefit of her lance
and the entire unit.
Suzy's relationship with Ace Leghorn continues to this day. There is a visible rift
between the two that has been caused by Ace's paranoia. However the two remain
strong in their love for each other. Suzy spends most of her free time with both
Ace and Merrick. She has become an unofficial leader, helping guide her son when
making important decisions for the small mercenary unit. It is likely she will
remain an important part of her unit, even if it integrates into the Strider's Strikers.
Suzy will definitely remain in a commanding position, considering her broad
knowledge of battlefield tactics.
On the battlefield itself, Suzy's is as lethal as ever. In addition to her command
abilities, she is a gifted pilot. Perhaps her most amazing talent is her skill as a
gunner. Her aim is legendary amongst the Hueys, even rivaling that of the elite
veteran Megan T. Suzy is famous for ending her battles two different ways, either
crippling her opponents by destroying their Mech's legs, or overheating her
Crockett and firing an overwhelming salvo to finish an opponent off.
