A Explorer Corps Mechwarrior turned mercenary, Fenton Hardy found comfort in
his new lifestyle. Fenton had made friends with all of his lancemates. This
situation varied greatly from his Explorer Corps job. Fenton had very few friends
in the Explorer Corps because he was marginalized to the Dropship he traveled in.
Other members were able to freely travel about the Jumpship, but Fenton's
secondary job had confined him to monitoring information inside his carrier
Dropship. Rather than seeking out samples for new planets and star systems, he
could find himself working with explosives and powerful energy weapons while in
service to the Strikers unit.
Keeping in mind his limited safety in this new role, Fenton was nevertheless filled
with anticipation to upcoming Mech versus Mech combat.
Fenton was killed while helping his lance hold territory during a Word of Blake
attack in 3068. He had little support from his teammates because of the
overwhelming number of enemies the small group was facing, and his inexperience
with actual Mech combat proved fatal. He was able to disable one of his foes
before he was killed in physical combat by multiple enemy Mechs.
