Merrick Leghorn Esquire...
Following in his father's footsteps, Merrick Leghorn has proven himself in recent
years as both a capable leader and tactician.  Merrick lacks the extreme paranoia
that haunts his father, but he is very cautious about the realities of warfare and the
darker side of politics.  With role models like his parents, Von Sturmer, and friend
Decker Tressle, Merrick has been granted with all of the understandings of what is
required of his position as a leader.  Merrick was taught Mech piloting at a young
age.  He is a gifted gunner and a capable pilot.  Overall he prefers medium or light
class Mechs because they are easier to handle.  However his incredibly accurate
aim serves him best when he has the kind of arsenal provided by assault Mechs.
As a result, Merrick has decided to pilot his father's 85-ton Stalker.  The choice
has been advantageous in many ways.  The Mech represents the entire team as a
symbol of continuity, handed down over the years between mother, father, and now
son.  The upgraded Mech also carries young Merrick's favorite weapon, the
extended range (or ER) PPC.
With the recent partnership of the Acer's Hueys and the Strider's Strikers,
Merrick's future as a team leader seems more secure than ever.  With plans to
clear their name succeeding and having proven the betrayal enacted upon their unit
in 3039 by House Kurita, the Hueys have built a brighter future for their unit and
families.  Merrick hopes he can prove himself worthy of the position he has been
raised for.  If it happens that he cannot or is someday unable to do so, Merrick
hopes that his close friend and fellow pilot Decker Tressle will be willing to lead the
unit.
