Ryke Patterson was involved in the military throughout his entire life. The
greatest of his accomplishments included commander and gunner positions in tanks
such as the Puma and the Behemoth. Ryke had given up his life in the armor
division. Finally taking interest in the so called "kings of the battlefield", he joined
the Strikers in 3062 to try his luck as a Mechwarrior. His knowledge of
BattleMech-class weaponry gave him somewhat of an advantage in his new job.
Ryke's only regret was his difficulty in landing Mechs after jump-jetting.
Ryke was killed when Blakist forces orbitally bombarded the com-relay station he
and his lance had reached. The group of Strikers had been attempting to protect
their teammates by informing their immediate superior of a coming onslaught of
Word of Blake Mechs. Ryke was honored for his talents with both Mech piloting
and gunnery. One of the Arbiter Warship's training simulator rooms has been
named after him.
