Betty Stalwart was a newcomer to the Strikers. She had been discharged by the
Federated Suns. A Davion loyalist, influences by Steiner political forces removed
her from her position as a lance commander. Outraged by such faults within the
military, Stalwart became a mercenary. She was convinced that if the mercenary
unit's commander is "a decent bloke", then she would be treated fairly despite her
loyalties. Betty was happy with the Striker command structure so far. She was
somewhat ill-adapted to the Clan system but had hoped to gain some understanding
of its ways.
Betty was killed when the Defensive Company was attacked in 3067 by a
Cobalt-60 nuclear weapon. She was caught directly in the epicenter of the blast
and died instantly. She had seen the actual device before its detonation, but was
unable to do anything to stop its descent and activation.
