Experienced Combatant

Yauri Swift is considered by his previous employer as an elite pilot.  Though his
skills are somewhat lacking for an elite classification, Yauri has spent his time in
the field to earn his current pilot rank.  His previous employer was Llana's
Breakers, a nearby mercenary unit that now fights alongside the Acer's Hueys
against Federated Commonwealth forces.  Llana Huxley, the commander of the
Breakers, personally fired Yauri over a recent financial debacle with the man.  
When Yauri's lance failed to achieve their objective in a recent defensive
mission, Llana informed him he would be held personally responsible for losses
taken.  He refused to accept Llana's policy on the matter.  The two started an
argument that nearly escalated into a Mech duel.  After being fired, Yauri
searched for work elsewhere on New Hessen.  With the Acer's Hueys
advertising the addition of a new lance, he tried out for the team in hopes of
making the new lance commander opening.  Yauri soon met stiff competition
from Von Sturmer, another pilot applying for the position.  Though Yauri's
testing shown him equal to his competition in combat effectiveness, the elite
Von's higher intelligence test scores won him the position.  Yauri was greatly
disappointed with the failure.  However he was chosen to join the assault lance
of the Hueys.  He now pilots the 50 ton Hunchback.  The Mech sports a
configuration of 8 medium lasers and 1 small laser.  This devastating
combination allows him to make the most of his gunnery abilities.  Taking a
quick liking to the "Hunchie", as he calls it, Yauri has begun to improve his
abilities with the Mech's weaponry.  It is likely he will become a medium laser
specialist, considering his heavy reliance on the weapons.
Yauri has lost much of his initial anger towards Von Sturmer.  The two now
appear to be on good terms.  Yauri gets along well with nearly all of the Huey
pilots, except for maybe Megan T.  Megan appears to have affections towards
Yauri, but he often finds her annoying and even a bit overwhelming.  Serving
under Dr. Suzy Evans, Yauri and his Hunchback add much firepower to the
assault lance.
