    Militia Veteran

Grady Thomas had always hoped his son Vincent would continue his legacy as
militia commander.  With things working smoothly up until Vincent's 25th
birthday, Grady was confident this would happen.  However as Vincent 'Viper'
Thomas turned 25, he was faced with one of the most significant decisions of
his life.  Vincent's friend Tony Hopkins had been captured by a local resistance.
Vincent decided to plan the rescue of his friend secretly, so that rumors could
not spread that might cause Tony's death.  Using all of his available assets,
Vincent was able to sneak his Phoenix Hawk on-board a train bringing supplies
to Tony's captors.  Arriving deep inside the enemy's base, Vincent sent coded
signals to his friends outside the base.  Attacking with a small group of scout
Mechs, Vincent's friends distracted enemy Mechs while Vincent scanned
buildings on the enemy grounds.  Upon finding a heavily armored building,
Vincent opened fire with his Mech's massive machine guns.  He succeeding in
killing several perimeter guards before dismounting from his Mech.  Vincent
soon found himself in a firefight inside the building.  His special training and
weapons allowed him to pin enemies units in open corridors along the prison's
stockade area.  Finally rescuing Tony, Vincent returned to his Mech and soon
jump-jetted clear of the enemies that were returning to face his Phoenix Hawk.
Upon returning to the militia base, he admitted to his father that he had secretly
and successfully rescued Tony.  Grady, enraged at his son's over-confidence,
began questioning Vincent's judgement in planning such a daring rescue.
Vincent was astounded by his father's opinion and believed the successful
rescue deserved praise rather than criticism.
Not soon thereafter Vincent left his militia home to live with Tony, whom had
suffered torture at the hands of his captors.  Vincent agreed to pilot Tony's
20-ton Hornet for the next few years to allow Tony to recover from his torture
and new fear of piloting the Mech.
Once Tony had finally recovered, the two left planet for search of mercenary
work on Outreach.  Meeting with Strikers representatives, Tony signed on alone
in hopes of regaining some of his independence.  Vincent took on a short
contract with another team for 1 year.  When this contract finally ended, Vincent
joined the Strider's Strikers.  He piloted a 75-ton War Dog Mech while in service
    with the team.
Vincent was killed during the Word of Blake's strikes against the Strider's
Strikers base.  He was one of the many victims of his company who died during
the firebombing of a barracks facility.  Vincent had been off-duty during the
attack.  Evidence seems to suggest that when the first bombs exploded, he was
entering memorial data regarding Tony Hopkins into his computer.
