Dropship Captured

[dcs_p]The rifle fired to produce a small click. The bullet, a small ball of metal, was
pushed into the magnetic barrel. After being propelled by magnet after magnet,
the accelerated ball left the barrel at incredible speed. Hitting its target with a
terrific amount of kinetic energy, it punched a hole through the pirate while
pushing the man one meter across the metal floor of the corridor. Xandar
dropped the weapon. He stood silent, surveying the damage he had inflicted.
Strider lay on the floor, pinching his savaged left leg. After receiving three shots
to the appendage, Strider could do little to lessen the pain. He grabbed his
overcoat from the floor. Reaching into its inner pockets, he grabbed the
adrenaline shot.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“Put half of this into your arm. Make sure you don’t use too much. I’ll use the
rest.” he said. “Let’s get to that medkit.”[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“You got it. Are you sure that finishes up the pirates?” Xandar couldn’t help but
ask. “And what’s happening outside?” he asked curiously.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]Strider smiled. “Joanna is trashing those bastards. Most of their fighters are
only armed with machine guns, so she is taking the dropship out.” With his
mission accomplished, he could now watch his enemies die while he, Joanna, and
Xandar rode safely to the Lyran jumpship. With his personal vendetta near
completion, Strider suddenly realized he had a new life in front of him. As he
limped towards the command room with Xandar Harlow and away from the pirate
Kinta’s remains, he began to think about his future. Despite this hard-earned
victory over Kenny Ryan, Strider’s family was not coming back.[/dcs_p]
