[dcs_p]“We did not find any traces of the pirates that killed them?” Navin asked. He
found it hard to believe that the pirates would be organized enough to escape
without a trace.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]“On the contrary, not only did we find the pirates, we were ambushed by them as
well.” Harry continued, “Our lance of scouts, including myself, encountered the
pirate infantry shortly after a combat drop in the Breakers’ last known area.”
Harry stopped speaking. He looked up at Navin. “But that’s a story for another
day. You now know one of the most important pieces of history for our unit.”
Harry looked down at the plate full of cold food and then glanced up as the waiter
[dcs_p]passed by to drop the check on their table.[/dcs_p]
“The rest will wait for later.” Harry said. “There’s a lot more to that ‘space
station’ stuff too.”[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]Navin wanted to ask questions about the battle, the results, and what kind of
significance the space station had, but decided they should wait until the next time.
“Thank you grandpa,” he simply said instead.[/dcs_p]
[dcs_p]Harry looked at his grandson, judging the young man’s thoughts. After a moment
of smiling at Navin, he finished, “You’re welcome. Now how about we settle up at
the register?”[/dcs_p]
