The BattleTech Collectable Card Game has a special place with the Strikers group of players. We played this game first before making a storyline with the tabletop strategy game. Playing for a couple of years hardcore, we later played it again briefly in college with Todd. Finally, a new group of players are playing the game regularly again in Japan. We would like to share with you some of our decks that we have constructed. As the original rules go, each deck is 60 cards. We have built these decks around specific themes, including teams and varying strategies.

Card Types:

Supports and Resources- these are used for building & constructing, with special resource cards used to build specific things quickly or cheaply

Commands-these are used for a variety of options and are important for a variety of gameplay; include pilots, enhancements, mercenaries & more

Enhancements-these Command cards are used to make Mechs, Vehicles, or other Command cards more valuable by giving them additional abilities

Mercenaries-these Command cards represent existing mercenary units of the BattleTech universe; they can be 'hired' through Resource payment

Pilots-these Command cards represent Mechwarriors who have special talents or are important people in the BattleTech universe

Missions-these cards are 'paid' for with Initiative points; they can be used in various ways to boost attack, damage, armor and other values

Mechs-these are the primary Units in the game; they are used for attacking enemies and defending

Vehicles-these are the secondary Units in the game; they are used for attacking enemies and defending; they are weaker than Mechs

- well balanced deck combining all aspects of gameplay for maximum flexibility

House Kurtia

- pilots provide variety of options, moderately balanced for flexibility in most situations

- includes mercenaries kell hounds and black thorns

House Davion

- block attacks immediately with fast attackers, luck, overpower with large mechs

- includes mercenaries gray death legion and 21st centauri lancers

House Liao

subterfuge, delaying or trapping enemies, controlling or redirecting enemy attacks, units capable of high damage values

- includes no mercenaries

House Steiner

- double-time offensive abilities, missions, moderate balance of card types for flexibility in most situations

- includes no mercenaries

Comstar

- anti-clan tactics, enhancements, minor c3 networks, Missions

- includes generic mercenaries and mercenaries northwind highlanders

Rasalhague Republic

- delaying or controlling enemies, double-time construction abilities, bombing and aerospace support

- includes no mercenaries

Inner Sphere

- pilots, pilot support system, moderately balanced for flexibility in most situations

- includes mercenaries hansen's roughriders and eridani light horse

Generic Inner Sphere

- rapid deployment, cheap construction costs, double-time offensive abilities

- includes no mercenaries
